Mirage 2000-5 Fighter Jets from Qatar Will Soon be Sent to Indonesia Using An-124 Cargo Aircraft
As many as 12 units of Mirage 2000-5 Fighter Jets from Qatar will soon be sent to Indonesia.
The delivery is part of the sale of the delta wing aircraft made by Dassault after obtaining approval from France.
The planes will be delivered by Defense Conseil International (DCI), a French private company based in Qatar, using the Antonov An-124 cargo plane.
The Israel Defense portal reported that the agreement between Qatar and Indonesia was drafted by E-Systems Solutions, a Dubai-based company.
Regarding the financing for the purchase of Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets, this was carried out by a Czech company called Excalibur International, a subsidiary of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) arms company.
Mr. Prabowo, "confirmed that Indonesia would buy Mirage 2000."
Previously it was reported, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto intends to acquire Mirage 2000 fighter jets, in addition to acquiring Rafale and F-15EX.
Mr. Prabowo conveyed this during a speech at the Grand Reunion of Retired Indonesian Warriors (PPIR) at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Yogyakarta on May 3, 2023.
"We have signed a contract for the acquisition of the most advanced combat aircraft currently, namely the Rafale.
Also to overcome the gap until the Rafale is operational, we will also acquire Mirage 2000 aircraft.
Then we also hope that in the near future we will also be able to complete the acquisition contract for F-15s for our air force, "Mr. Prabowo said at the time.
